School Council

The School Council is a very important part of school life.

Student views often help to inform important policy decisions within the school. Membership is entirely voluntary, but we try to ensure that all Houses are represented. We encourage students from all year groups to be involved. The School Council is run by senior prefects in Year 11 and supported by Mrs Hollidge and Mrs Steward.

Meetings are held fortnightly in our wonderful library; minutes are distributed to every tutor group and senior staff and School Council members occasionally address school assemblies. They take a lead in the organisation of whole school events such as Charities Week.

The Role of the School Council

  • To discuss issues as requested by their Houses and tutor groups
  • To discuss issues as requested by staff groups
  • To disseminate information to their Houses and tutor groups
  • To make recommendations to the Senior Management Team
