Our School

Welcome from the Headteacher

It is a real privilege to welcome you to Sheringham High School. As I begin my new role as Head of School in September 2026, I am incredibly excited about joining such an important part of the Sheringham community and working with our students, staff, families and wider community as we continue to move the school forward together.

For me, great schools are built on relationships. Students need to feel known, valued and understood if they are going to thrive. They need adults around them who believe in them, know their strengths, understand their needs and encourage them to be the very best version of themselves. That sense of belonging and connection will be at the heart of my leadership.

As part of Synergy Multi Academy Trust, we believe that we are Stronger Together, with Inclusivity, Collaboration and Ambition at the heart of what we do. These values are important to me because I believe that schools are at their strongest when people work together. That means students, staff, parents and carers, governors, the Trust and our local community all playing their part.

I am particularly passionate about strengthening the relationship between Sheringham High and the community around us. Our school is part of a much wider community, and I want our students to understand and value that and feel pride in belonging. I want us to build strong links with local organisations, businesses, services, families and other schools so that our students have opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, develop their interests and understand the contribution they can make to the place they live.

Our students deserve an ambitious education. They should leave us with strong qualifications, but also with the confidence, resilience, independence and wider experiences they need for their next steps. Our curriculum should open doors for them and help them to see possibilities for their future, whatever their starting point.

Sheringham High already has many strengths to build on. Ofsted's 2023 inspection recognised the school's ambitious curriculum, calm and orderly learning environment, high expectations and the range of opportunities available to pupils beyond the classroom. Inspectors also recognised the careful provision for pupils with SEND and the way the school supports pupils' learning and personal development.

I want us to be ambitious about what Sheringham High can become, together, while making sure that the things that matter most are never lost: knowing our students, supporting one another, having high expectations, high ambitions, achieving the very best they can and creating a school where everyone feels that they belong.

I am looking forward to getting to know our students, staff and families, listening carefully and working alongside you. There is a great deal to be proud of at Sheringham High, and I am excited about what we can achieve together.
